Alaunt

The Alaunt was a type of large working dog developed in medieval Europe, primarily by the Alans and later used across France, Spain, and other regions. It is now an extinct landrace rather than a standardized modern breed, historically valued for guarding, hunting large game, and livestock work. Modern reconstructions or "recreations" of the Alaunt are speculative and are not recognized by major kennel clubs.
