The Argentine Dogo, also known as the Dogo Argentino, is a large, powerful molosser-type breed developed in Argentina primarily for big-game hunting and as a versatile working dog. It is known for its muscular build, predominantly white coat, and strong protective instincts. Well-bred and properly trained Dogos can be loyal, affectionate family companions but require experienced, responsible ownership.
The Argentine Dogo was intentionally bred to be almost entirely white to help hunters distinguish the dogs from game animals during hunts.
Despite its imposing appearance, a well-socialized Dogo Argentino is often very affectionate and people-oriented with its family.
